A must for every fisherman

Top Ten, Flies for Ireland

This DVD is a must for every fisherman who wants to learn the delicate art of flytying. Dietrich's enthusiasm for fishing shines as he methodically guides the fishing fraternity through the complex task of making a fly.

Punctuated throughout this DVD is the success rate of choosing the right fly for each occasion.

The beautiful scenery enhances the pleasure of this film, as does the dry humour of his eccentric English friend "the great Raymondo". Watch as they tramp the landscape, dressed as if extras in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail, (which in a sense they are, in a fishy sort of way).

114 minutes of fly-tying and fishing. Dietrich Bohnhorst's entertaining and practical guide for every game angler.

On DVD for only EURO 20

And we are not coming home empty handed.  There are still a good few trout taking our flies.

A salmon from the Eany

The season is coming to a close. Much too soon, as always.

Though this time of year is full of colour, there is a bit of melancholy in the air as well; at least for the game angler in me.

At the windmills again

Ray is walking down to another lake at the windmills of Barnesmore.  Thank God, where we are, there is always one more lake to fish.

When I asked him which fly they took, his dry answer was: on a Blue and Purple Shitty and on a Bogfly.

Spot the fish. Probably Ray's smallest of the season.
