No Rain, no Salmon

No rain, no salmon.  So, it's the lakes of the Blue Stack Mountains again.  You couldn't hope for a more beautiful setting for your brown trout fishing anyway.

No matter, which way you look at it.

Ray Robinson and Otmar Butz at a lake near Barnesmore, Co. Donegal.

Soon enough we had a good few trout, not the biggest ones, but good fishing and good eating.

In the Blue Stacks

Linus preparing a cast for Anja, to be ready for the trouts of a Blue Stack Mountain lake.

But the lake didn't yield a trout whatsoever.  We have to come back another day.

Big Trout

Somewhere high up in the Blue Stack Mountains, there is a little lake with big fish.  Let's say we call it Lough Linus, for want of a better name.

Ray Robinson is into one of these Trout.

I'm sure he will sleep well tonight, with lots of pleasant dreams.

You aren't catching a brace of Trout like that every day.  By the way, both took a Wickham's.

Open Season

First Day of the Trout Season

As usual, the first day of the trout season belongs to a mountain stream.  This one is up in the Blue Stack Mountains, Co. Donegal.

I catch seven little trout on a Prince Bibio nymph.  Not bad for March 1.
