High up in the Blue Stack Mountains

Ray knows exactly where to go: Follow the little Owengarve River up to the Magrath Lakes.

After 30 minutes walking along the stream you are at the first of these Lakes, Lough Shivnagh.

Water levels are extremely low; everything needs rain.

At Lough Nadeal Ray makes his fly selection.

In Lough Nabrackdeelion we catch a couple of trout…

…and eventually we come home with a good feed for all the family.
Ray and me decided to go fishing. Despite the weather. It is dry and sunny, high pressure and easterly winds. Nothing the angler wants.
But there are a couple of lakes up in the Blue Stacks we want to go to.
